What's it all about?

Mother and Daughter team Naomi and Bronwyn Ingleton own and run The Butter Factory in Myrtleford, Bronwyn former executive chef to the US consul general in Melbourne, has relocated to take over the kitchen at The Butter Factory. Naomi is the butter maker. Naomi moved to the North East nearly 10 years ago for work with Brown Brothers and has worked in some of the top kitchens in the region, Naomi recently worked with the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation setting up the regional Foundation school in Wangaratta.

The Butter production started in September 2010, a converted space at the back of the building that once housed an art gallery is now the butter factory. Visitors to Myrtleford can watch the production from a specially built viewing platform behind our produce shelves over looking the cafe.

Our butter is hand-made using cream from local high country cows and a unique blend of cultures in true European style. The lightly salted butter is made using Mt Zero pink lake salt. We also produce a Pure Buttermilk, the only one in Australia. Our buttermilk is packaged in 1 litre and 300ml bottles and also made into a beautiful hand crafted soap range.
